Biography
Growing up in Columbia, South Carolina, I have always been deeply connected to my community and committed to being of service. In 1995, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in African American Studies from the University of South Carolina. After a career in book publishing, I followed a calling to the law and received my Juris Doctor in 2004 from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. I am honored to practice law in South Carolina.
For over twenty years, I’ve had the privilege of serving real people with holistic legal counsel that transforms lives—not just cases. My legal practice has been grounded in compassion, clarity, and powerful advocacy. For almost a decade, I’ve helped hundreds of personal injury clients receive justice and compensation. There is no better feeling than handing a check to a client and knowing they’ve been helped to move forward after a difficult time.
But something was missing. Too often, injury and wrongful death cases exposed a deeper need: the absence of estate planning. Families were left scrambling during already devastating moments because essential documents weren’t in place.
Turbinado Law was created not just as an accident and injury firm, but as a resource for our community to build, protect, and preserve legacies. By combining Personal Injury and Estate Planning services, our mission is to ensure clients have support during crisis and guidance for the future.
Outside of the office, I’m happily married to Obispo "Bishop" Turbi, who serves as Turbinado Law’s Lead Investigator and Spanish Translator. Together, we are proud to offer culturally competent, accessible legal services to the diverse communities of South Carolina.
